The event calendar is implemented as an integrated function of the online editor Xinha.
Opening a page with write access an icon bar is shown comprising various task buttons depending on page configuration and layout. Activated task buttons are colored, deactivated task buttons are greyed out. A sample task button bar would be:
Task buttons define possible operations for a content page.

Copy | Copy an entry |
Task buttons are activated or deactivated depending on user level and available functionality. The button to save an entry is in this case deactivated, because the save functionality is integrated into the editor.
Events are presented as a list that can be filtered by year, month and number of entries. The filter bar at the bottom specifies default filter settings that can be adapted.
In write mode each event has a check box. The box has to be checked before an event can be modifed, deleted or copied.
The event view comprises basic event information like title, date and description.
The description of an event does not necessarily require a separate title/heading as shown in the above example.
Clicking the task button New creates a new event entry in the database. If no longer required, the entry has to be deleted from the database.
The editor and subsequently the event calendar dialog start up.
While the event calendar dialog opens it is not possible to use the editor. The editor option Event Calendar opens the event calendar dialog for later additions:

The dialog has the following default values that will have to be adapted:
Event | Event title |
Sub-Title | Event sub-title (optional) |
Begin | Begin of event (Date) |
End | End of event (optional) |
Org./Author | Event organiser/editor (optional) |
Link | Reference to an existing file (e.g., PDF with event poster) (optional) |
User Level | User level (optional). User level can be specified to display events for certain user groups only. |
The default modifications will have to be saved. Now the event can be described in more detail using the editor. If a description is not required, the default event description should be deleted from the editor.
As described above the (event) editor is started by selecting an event and clicking the Editor task button. This applies only to the first selected entry. Multiple selects are not supported.
The event description can be changed in the editor.
To adapt values entered in the event calendar dialog click the event calendar option on the editor's menu bar.
Modified event entries are treated the same as newly created events. The data will have to be saved using the editor's Save option.
Select the entry or entries from the event list. Click on the task button Delete and confirm deletion for every entry.
The copy function supports a re-use of event entries. Selected entries are automatically created for the follow-up year with the same content and data (day/month)
