1. General.
In this section described how to manage General Settings of your blog.
1.1 Preview.
Allows to preview changes on your blog without loggin out. To go back to Admin Panel simply click on [Back to Admin Panel] link at the top of page.
1.2 Setting up site parameters.
Select Settings from General Menu. On this page you can easy magane and change important settings of your blog.
There are 4 tabs on this page: General Settings, Formatting, Visual Settings and Templates & Styles.
On General Settings tab you can change:
- - Site Offline
- - Offline Message
- - SEO URLs
- - E-mail address
- - Show Tag Cloud Block
- - RSS Feed
- - RSS Feed Type
On Formatting tab you can change:
- - Text Direction: [Admin Panel only]
- - Number of posts numbers on home page
On Visual Settings tab you can change:
- - Header Text
- - Slogan
- - Footer Text
- - Tag <TITLE>
- - Meta Tag <KEYWORDS>
- - Meta <DESCRIPTION>
On Templates & Styles tab you can change:
- - Template
1.3 Ban list.
Here you can control the banning of users by IP address. This method prevents a user reaching any part of your blog site. You can give a short reason for the ban if you wish.
2. Accounts.
In this section described how to manage accounts on your blog.
2.1 My Account.
Log into administrator panel, using your username and password. Then select My account from Accounts Menu. You will see a page where you can change your personal info, upload avatar, change email or password, make other changes in your account.
2.2 Authors accounts (for Admin only).
Log into administrator panel, using your username and password. Then select Authors from Accounts Menu. You will see a page where you can manage Authors accounts on your blog. You can add, edit or delete existing accounts.
3. Posting.
In this section described how to manage categories and posts on your blog.
3.1 Categories Management.
Log into administrator(authors) panel, using your username and password. Then select Posts Menu. You will see Categories Management block.
3.1.1 Creating categories.
Click on "Add New Category" from Posts -> Categories Management. On this page you may create new category. Enter a proper name for the category in the text box and press on "Create" button to finish the creating process.
3.1.2 Editing categories.
To edit existing category - select "Edit Categories" from Posts -> Categories Management, then click on
"Edit" link for appropriate category in the list. Perform all changes you need and then save changes.
You may also change display order of each category using "Up" and "Down" links.
If you wish to delete category follow the steps below: select "Edit Categories" from Posts -> Categories Management,
then click on "Delete" link of appropriate category in the list.
3.2 Posts Management.
Log into administrator(authors) panel, using your username and password. Then select Posts Menu. You will see Posts Management block.
3.2.1 Creating new posts.
Click on "Add New Post" from Posts Management. On this page you may add post header, post text,
allow comments, define specific tags for this post and choose appropriate category.
You may also publish or just save changes without publishing. Click on "Create" button to
finish the process.
If you need to insert/upload images into your post - click on "Insert Image" icon in
the toolbar of WYSIWYG editor, then upload/select your image and press "Submit" button.
3.2.2 Editing posts.
To edit existing post - click on "Edit Posts" from Posts Management, then select an
appropriate post from the list. Perform all changes you need and then press on
"Save Changes" button.
If you need to insert/upload images into your post - click on "Insert Image" icon in
the toolbar of WYSIWYG editor, then upload/select your image and press "Submit" button.
4. Language Setting.
In this section described how to change languages settings and vocabulary entries. ApPHP Microblog supports UTF-8 and allows you to work with your preferred language.
4.1 Language.
Click on "Language" from "Language Settings" menu and then on Edit "link". On this page you can edit parameters of your language name, text direction and define the language flag icon.
4.2 Vocabulary.
When you change language to preferred one, you have to change also vocabulary entries (the list of predefined constants, used by the system). In other words, you have to translate them into the new language. To do this - simply open them one by one, change each value with new and then save.
5. Modules.
In this section described how to work with embedded modules.
5.1 Modules Management.
Select "Modules Management" from Modules Menu. On this page you can install/uninstall embedded modules, for example news, gallery, backup etc.
5.2 Backup & Restore Module.
Creating a backup.
ApPHP MicroBlog allows you easily create backup of your database. To do this go
to Modules -> Backup & Restore -> Backup Installation. On this page you can see a list
of existing backups. If you want to add new backup click on "BackUp" button.
After backup is created it will appear in the list of existing backups.
Restoring database from backup.
To restore database from existing backup - go to Modules -> Backup & Restore -> Backup Restore
and look on the list of existing backups. Select a backup you want to restore and then
click on "Restore" link at the right side. After restoring is completed, refresh the site
or re-login.
5.3 Adsense Module.
Adsense module allows you to show adsense blocks directly on your blog.
You may enter a code for vertical and horizontal banners and also define some other
important parameters for this module.
5.4 Gallery.
In this section described how to work with Gallery Module.
Gallery Settings.
This page allows you to define Gallery settings, like:
- Types of Gallery
- keyword that will be replaced with gallery on post pages
- Album icons width and height
- Number of album icons per line
Gallery Management.
This page allows you to create and manage gallery albums on your site.
To do this go to Modules -> Gallery -> Gallery Management. Open this page and
see a list of existing albums. Albums are managed with a standard MicroGrid page.
You can add, delete or edit albums info. To upload/delete images from the certain
album - click on "Upload" link.
5.5 Contact Module.
In this section described how to work with Contact Module, that allows you to create online contact form on any post page of your blog.
Contact module settings.
This page allows you to define Contact Module settings, like:
- Email address, that will be used to get data
- Keyword that will be replaced with Contact form on post page
5.6 Comments Module.
In this section described how to work with Comments Module, that allows visitors of your blog leave comments to posts.
Comments module settings.
This page allows you to define Comments settings, like:
- Allow or not comments to posts
- Type of users, who can post comments (visitors, registered users etc.)
- The maximal length of a comment
- Allow or not image verification
- How much comments will be shown on one page
5.7 Resources Module.
In this section described how to work with Resources Module.
Resources Settings.
This page allows you to define Resources settings, like:
- How many resources will be shown in resources block
- The length of resources header in block
- Default target parameter for links
Resources Management.
This page allows you to create and manage list of resources. To do this
go to Modules -> Resources -> Resources Management. Resources are managed
with a standard MicroGrid page. You can add, delete or edit records.
